Spindle rethreading Tool Set

Background:

While you are disassembling your trailing arms frequently you will find the threads have been ruined by over torquing or careless workmanship You need to reach down into the triling arm and remove the cotter key, and 3/4-20 castle nut. Once these are removed the threads need to be repaired before the temoval tool can be installed. The 3/4-20 is a fine thread and not caried by hardware stores and your die handle will not clear the rest of the trailing arm. The solution is to buy the correct 3/4-20 die, a die handle and a die handle extension to all you to easily rethread the spindle.

Unique Design:

The die handle extender is designed to allow you to displace a standard die 3 inches. The extender accepts a standard 1 1/2 inch threading die and allows you to clamp it in the a standard 1 1/2 inch die handle. It is made out of quality steel and accurately machined.

The die extender is available as PN 010-00232.

(PN 010-00232K01). A Spindle Rethreading Tools kit is available that includes a 1 1/2 in. threading die handle, a 1 1/2 in. 3/4 - 20 threading die, and die extender.

Directions for use of the disassembly tool.

Install the die extender into handle
Make sure dimples are aligned with set screws.
Install the 1 1/2 3/4 - 20 die into extender.
Make sure die and die extender are square with die holder.
Firemly tighten all set screws
When rethreading make sure the new and old threads line up.
Carefully turn the die handle 1 / 2 turn and then back it off to break any chip.
Never force the die to turn as you will cut new threads and have a cross threaded spindle that is Scrap.
